Chased by bums?
Everyday I see the same two panhandlers on the A train. And today I saw one that I haven’t seen since high school in Penn Station. No social commentary here, just surprised at the lack of desire people can have to pull themselves out of the gutter. Oh awesome … Douchey hipster girl just stopped him in front of me to give a dollar. People never learn.
I’ve had a firm rule of not...
Biz as uge
The best kinds of meetings are the ones that take less than 15 minutes. When I sit down with an agency and they want to spend 2 hours fluffing each other I know it isn’t going to work out. What we so isn’t all that special, only difference is were one of the ONLY shops doing JUST this. So when I can wrap up my “what we can do for you” pitch in under 7 minutes I love when we...
A solid day of no work
Was great to take saturday off completely and tell everyone I wasn’t able to deal with thier problems. Felt good, got extra sleep and quality time with the kids and friends. Need to make an effort to do that more often. Now it looks like I am about to start the longest week ever. Meetings, travel, and deadlines. Awesome.
Hectic week. Almost nonstop client meetings and three pressing deadlines all in one week. Not sure I’m 100% sold on this idea, lots of responsibility, allocating resources and answering to clients. Surprisingly there has been more creative involved than originally setting out to do as a production shop. Was expecting more resistance to input from the people were working with, but good ideas...

Twitter as the world's best CRM software.
i’m working on this one, because im spending more and more time selling the idea of a social platform for customer engagement to people who ALREADY use some form of CRM software.
why is it that the same guy who has dedicated a chunk of their marketing budget to CRM can’t get their head around the benefits of a real time customer management tool?
i’m going to work on addressing...

when meetings go awry
had a meeting today, and without going into too much detail, i have to say it was the worst experience i’ve had in a while. a creative director that had “no value” (his words not mine) for digital strategy, much less building platforms for clients to interact with customers, heading up an agency that is trying to enter the digital market. it was what i would have expected from an...
RT @arnied: A new phrase that was thrown around today—Seagull Management. That’s a manager who just swoops down and craps on people’s ideas.

Laundry, cleaning, and the boy in the tub for an early bath before grandma comes. Love a Friday.
RT @mikemookie: I’m designing a survey… Why am I designing a survey?!
Just got out of the most baffling meeting of my life. On the positive side I got a phonecall from a recruiter at one of my fave agencies.
In queens. Besides the obvious bummer, I should have brought my skateboard.

Hardest part about signing non disclosure agreements - knowing you can’t tweet about what you’re doing all day.
Looks crappy out this morning.
